Starbucks approached HALO looking for a way to send an item with the tagline “Strong Like Coffee” to all retail/in-store partners. With the effects of COVID-19, partners were looking for a way to stay positive during the unprecedent times and there was a is a lot of excitement and energy around the “Strong Like Coffee” phrase from within the company. Through conversation with Sunrise and Starbucks internal members, they decided a pin would be the best to send to partners so they could wear it as a badge of honor as they work their scheduled hours. 

HALO produced 270,000 lapel pins (including French and English versions) and shipped out to all District Managers ~900. To ensure each store received the needed amount, we shipped out 10 different “tiers” of lapel pins for the DMs to distribute to each store within their district. These were received during Summer 2020 and partners loved wearing them with Pride knowing they had a company that stood behind them during the hard times. We then took the idea of “Strong Like Coffee” and incorporated that into a few product ideas to go onto Coffeegear where more partners could purchase on their own accord. We created tees, hats, sticker sheets, and a key chain.
